Taking care of your Fuwafuwa piece will help it stay in great shape for a long time. Here’s how to wash and care for it:

 ⍣ Gently hand wash your piece by soaking it in cold water with a mild    
   detergent. Let it soak for a few minutes.
 ⍣ After soaking, rinse out the detergent and carefully press out any excess
    water.
 ⍣ Lay your piece flat on a clean towel, then roll the towel up and gently press
    to remove any leftover moisture.
 ⍣ Lay your piece flat on a towel to dry, reshaping it as it dries.

A couple of things to remember: don’t stretch your piece while it’s wet—it can lose its shape. To avoid this, avoid wringing it out and instead, gently squeeze the water out. Laying it flat to dry, instead of hanging it, also helps keep its shape intact.

For items made from 100% Wool or 100% Mohair, you don’t need to wash them too often. Natural fibers are naturally self-cleaning and resistant to odors.

Once your mohair hat is dry, you can fluff it back up by gently brushing it with a small-bristled brush—clothes brushes, pet brushes, or mohair brushes work great for this!

Lastly, avoid using extreme heat (like tumble drying) as it can shrink or damage your piece.
